Rivkah Lapidus: About Rivkah Lapidus Psychotherapy

I am an artist and psychotherapist. Both disciplines address my interest in human experience, and how people construct reality and derive meaning from life.

In my drawings and paintings, I am interested in atmosphere and mood, the internal aspects of people and situations. I am especially interested in figurative work and drawing from life.

I am an experienced licensed psychotherapist who has worked for 25 years with clients from diverse backgrounds in programs ranging from child and family guidance centers, community mental health, and addictions programs, including methadone maintenance. In my work I believe it is important to understand the individual, to be flexible, and to develop the best approach for each person.

I received my PhD in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University, and my Masters degree in Expressive Therapy from Lesley College Graduate School.

My training also included a clinical fellowship at the Zinberg Center for Addiction Studies at Harvard Medical School, and a psychology internship at Medfield State Hospital. I am a visual artist as well and have a special interest in working with the creative and the curious.

I am pleased to announce the expansion of my private practice and my affiliation with Right Turn, 299 Broadway, Arlington, MA. Right Turn was founded to provide respectful and creative addictions treatment to creative people. It offers a full range of services and is an exciting place.
