What is Harm Reduction ?

Fasten your Seatbelt.

Wear a Mask. Wear a Helmet.

Harm Reduction treatment approaches arose first in Europe in response to the HIV epidemic in the 1980s. Harm reduction is literally that. It means encouraging measures to reduce risk to one's life (and the lives of others). I believe it is relevant not only in the area of substance use, but generally in the ways people deal with depression, anxiety, and other life challenges. A Harm Reduction approach encourages  you to set your own goals, and change at your own pace. Harm Reduction avoids judgements and stigma. As a Harm Reduction oriented therapist, I work with you as you strengthen your well-being.
